Meander is a quick and cosy Aran weight cowl inspired by the geometric pattern of the same name found all over the ancient world. This version is worked up to resemble Greek red figure pottery, but it would look just as good in any combination of colours, in either high or subtle contrast.

The size of the finished cowl is 7” x 18.5”, wide enough to slip over an adult head with relative ease and tall enough to sit just at the chin.

Less than one ball of each suggested yarn is used. The sample was knitted with 60g/90m in total, with just 20m used for the contrast colour—so it might be a contender for a stash buster project!

The included chart repeats seamlessly, so you could also convert this into a scarf (or plug it into a larger garment pattern!).
