Our Mecha Cowl is a long-time Beehive favourite. It makes a great gift or an ideal beginner project and is a great place to practice knitting and purling, reading your work, and knitting in the round. Adapted for several yarns, it allows you to choose from a variety of potential fabrics and looks.

SIZES
Both weights:
36cm/14” wide at base and 36cm/14” high after blocking. Size is easily adaptable.

YARN
Aran:
1 skein Juniper Moon Cumulus Dappled
Our sample used one skein of Kokomo Blues.

Bulky:
2 skeins Malabrigo Mecha
Our sample used two skeins of Jupiter.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
Aran:
5.0mm (US 8) 60cm/24” circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge.

Bulky:
6.5mm (US10.5) - 8mm (US11) 60cm/24” circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge.

Both weights:
2 Stitch markers
Darning needle

GAUGE
Aran:
17 sts = 10cm /4” in pattern, after blocking.

Bulky:
13-14 sts = 10cm/4” in pattern, after blocking.

Gauge is not critical but changes in gauge will affect meterage required and finished size.
