This beginner-friendly pattern creates a beautiful waffle-textured scarf that is about 4 inches in width and 3.25 feet in length. Perfect for keeping the neck warm with minimal bulk.

I used a single skein of worsted weight wool/alpaca/silk blend yarn and size 8 (5.0 mm) needles. A larger weight/gauge could absolutely be used and would make for a beautiful larger scarf.

This pattern uses a chart with color coding and a key with abbreviated instructions (’k’ for knit, ‘kfb’ for knit front back, etc.), and ‘RS’ and ‘WS’ at the beginning of each row.

Materials: one skein worsted weight yarn, set of size 8 (5.0 mm) needles, one stitch marker to keep track of increases/decreases.
