A simple, repeating pattern in a soft, thick yarn makes for a quickly worked up, snuggly warm accessory for the coldest days. Worked from the crown of the head in one piece, it is suitable for both men and women.

Knowledge of foundation double crochet is necessary for this pattern. Pattern is worked from the center top of head down, using both ends of the fdc sts (takes the place of a seam). The whole item is worked in one piece. Gauge/tension is not crucial to this project.

The hood itself measures 9” (23 cm) from front edge to center back and 15.5” (39cm) top to bottom. The scarf measures 88” (220cm) in length and 5” (12.5cm) in width. This pattern uses 3 balls of the Heartland yarn.
