This is a fundraising pattern for my late brother, Mino (1971-2004).

Mino says, “Meet me at a Moon.”

The fifth and last design, “Meet me at a Moon,” concludes the “Mivo Theory Collection.” It is an oversized stole with geometric lace pattern. It offers flexibility in a customized design and allows a knitter to make mistakes (to some extent).

In fact, when creating my sample, I ran out of yarn in the middle of a section and decided to add a fifth color. I will explain more in “My Sample” portion of the pattern.

“Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” - Soren Kierkegaard

Your stole will be understood once you reach at a moon. You have to knit forward to meet Mino at the end.

This is your journey to meet Mino. Good luck.

All the proceeds of this pattern will be donated to the Minoru Hokari Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Australian National University. My late brother, Minoru Hokari (“Mino” 1971-2004) died of cancer at the age of 32. The scholarship fund supports young scholars who study Indigenous Australians through fieldwork. We are trying to fully fund it to achieve its perpetuity. Please help.

Please visit Being Connected with HOKARI MINORU to meet Mino.
