He who controls the spice controls the universe.
-Frank Herbert Dune, 1965
Mélange was a narcotic spice that had many uses in the Dune Universe, primarily used by space navigators to safely navigate through space and time. The Tleilaxu made a synthetic Melange called Amal to create a monopoly on the spice for Emperor Shaddam. Though Amal was similar to Mélange it was a failure and evidence of its creation was destroyed. It apparently looked enough like Melange that those not knowing there was a synthetic version mistook it for the real thing, but it had more complexities than Amal. This sock is worked toe up with a gusset building up to a heel flap. There are 2 charts included; Melange and Amal. Work 1 sock with each chart for a fraternal pair or choose 1 chart and work both socks the same.
