Melanie's Autumn Shawl
Melanie’s Autumn Shawl is one of the first shawls that I designed… and actually wrote the pattern for! I have crocheted for more decades than I care to admit, and have experimented with design since creating my own wedding shawl in the 70s, but I had never written them down before.
My friend (and former student) Melanie opened her shop, Ethel & Em in Lancaster where we live, and she asked me to create an original design using a Scheepjes Whirl.
This triangular shawl is made with one Scheepjes whirl and a 3.5mm crochet hook. Whilst stitch markers are not required, I find them incredibly helpful when counting!
I hope you enjoy making this as much as I did!
