Notes: Melba is worked flat in two pieces from the bottom up, and sewn together. Garter stitch stripes are alternated with contrasting lace bands. The ribbed neck and armhole edgings are picked up and worked in the round. The lace stripe pattern is difficult to work using circular needles, so straight needles are recommended. The dress may be lengthened or shortened by adding or subtracting 8-row repeats of the Lace Stripe Pattern.
