Create the whimsical Melia Pant or Shorts for yourself with this 14 Page pattern! This pattern includes a mixture of written instructions, photos and a supporting stitch diagram. This pattern does not require use of the stitch diagram- all the information is included in the written steps. The stitch diagram is simply there for additional support!

The Melia Pant pattern can be used to make either loose, flowy shorts or an ultra wide leg pant of any length with simple adjustments explained in full within the pattern. Using your own waist measurement, this pattern works up to any size! Featuring lots of gorgeous leafy lace gathered into a simple ribbed waistband, these shorts/pant have gorgeous drape and movement!

Using repeating steps, this pattern is meditative and works up beautifully in any colour!

This pattern is entirely made to measure, meaning that a measuring tape and trying on your work as you go is essential.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

Yarn -

Ribbed Waistband:
20g DK yarn, or LIKELY MORE or LESS more depending on your unique size.
I used Utopia Crafts Perfect DK in colour Woodland Green (approx. 60m/66yds) for the piece depicted in this pattern.

Leaf Lace:
Shorts: 200g / Pant: 550g 4 Ply yarn, or LIKELY MORE or LESS more depending on your unique size and how long you choose to make your shorts/pant.
I used King Cole Simply Footsie 4 Ply in colour Olive (approx. 860m/940 yds for shorts / approx. 2365m/2585yds for pant) for the pieces depicted in this pattern.

Required hooks - 3.5mm.
Notions - Yarn needle, scissors and a flexible measuring tape. Locking stitch markers may be helpful, but are not required.
