A yarnstorm will hit Melrose, MA in December 2018, with crafty creations festooning the streets to celebrate the homecoming of a Victorian era quilt inscribed with the names of Melrose citizens. So what does that have to do with this pattern?

The quilt is made of “Snowflake” or “Old Italian” blocks. This pattern creates a knit version of the block, ready for you to download and make in time to join the yarnstorm. The finished size could be used as a cushion cover or car seat blanket.

Made with a garter stitch body, make your block in red and white like the quilt or any combination of colors. Only one color is used at a time, so the sky is the limit.
