The Meltwater shawl has narrow garter stitch borders, followed by a deep panel in the trellis lace stitch pattern. This merges into the solid diamond stitch pattern, before merging back into the final trellis lace stitch panel. A crochet cast-on is used so that the cast-on and cast-off edges look the same.
