The Meme Cardigan is designed in honor of my mom, LaRue, who has become known as “Meme” in our family. She has three granddaughters who have called her Meme over the years and now five great-grandchildren who address her thusly--she calls them her “GG’s.”

The cardigan is a fun, classic knit with a feminine neckline and top-down construction for customizing lengths. The project starts with swatching the saddle shoulder pieces and then knitting all the rest from the top down with no seams to finish. The fabric is graced with both twisted-stitch cables and other low-relief cables that present a slimming silhouette. The main center cable that appears on the back of the cardigan is repeated and split down the front center by a handy zipper closing. Baby honeycomb joins the mix at the inside seams, and all the edges are 1/1 twisted rib.

The pattern is fully charted for each size separately and all charts are also written out line-by-line.

Even if this is your first cabled cardigan, the pattern is so thorough that you will be able to knit it with confidence!
