The pattern uses a top-down contiguous shoulder construction, so you can easily adjust the fit as you knit. In each section, you’ll find suggestions for how to modify the shoulder depth, sleeve circumference, and body ease.

To make customization easier, I created an Excel Sheet where you can:

  • Select the size range that best fits you and instantly see the finished measurements.

  • Insert your own body measurements to calculate the exact amount of positive or negative ease.

  • Modify the stitch and row gauge, this is especially helpful if you can’t match the pattern’s gauge. Row gauge affects yoke depth, so make sure to update it in the table to preview how your yoke will change.

Construction

The blouse has a simple and intuitive construction:
Collar: worked flat, then grafted together with Kitchener stitch.
Section 1: short rows and rapid increases. You’ll shape the neckline (raising the back) while increasing for the body every round.
Section 2: sleeve increases only, every other round.
Section 3: both body and sleeve increases every other round .
Section 4: body increases only, this is where you can fine-tune the ease by adding or removing rounds. If you prefer not to alter the yoke depth, you can work rapid increases instead.
After completing the yoke sections, the sleeves and body are divided and stitches are cast on for the underarms. Work the body and sleeves to your desired length. The body and sleeves are finished with an i-cord edge, but you’re welcome to choose your own preferred finish.

Gauge: 22 sts and 34 rows in 10x10 cm (4x4 inches) stockinette stitch knit in the round after blocking on 4.5 mm needles, US 7 needles
Note: go up or down a needle size if needed
