Men's boot socks Tapio
Tapio is a men’s boot sock/camp sock pattern that is inspired by the traditional Finnish handicrafts and folklore, especially the weaving patterns that are traditional in Northern Finland.
The pattern has French heel and round toe. The toe is kitchener-free.
Tapio is a traditional Finnish name that has its roots in the Finnish mythology and folklore where Tapio was the god of the forest and the protector of the animals and hunting. It is also the name of my husband and son to whom I first made these socks to.
Tapio socks are knit with DK weight wool sock yarn that is warm, but thin enough to wear with shoes and boots. The double-knit in colour work makes the socks warmer and more durable in use. The colour choices here are more modern than traditional.
There are sizes from 38-45 EU/6-11,5 US men/5-10,5 UK to choose from. Any DK weight sock yarn can be used with this pattern, but you can find some options in my blog. The patterns has charts for the colour work as well as written instructions. The sock has French heel and round toe. There are some modification choices you can make in the pattern.
This pattern is test knitted and designed for use. My patterns are relatively easy, long-lasting in use and have timeless design.
The pattern is relatively easy an suited for knitter with some knitting experience with sock knitting or a more experienced knitter looking for a nice new side project, travel knit or great for gifting.
You can easily make the pattern suit the person you are knitting for jsut by changing the colours. Some colour options are available in my blog link text
Happy knitting and warm feet!
