This tie is more or less the same pattern as my linen stitch V scarf, with some decreases to make the tie slowly narrower, so it is the right shape to actually be able to knot it, and of course in a much finer yarn. I’ve used a lovely shaded one, but I think it would look good in a plain colour if you prefer. It’s always nice, I think, to have a few hand-made gifts for men that will fit anyone, and most have to wear a tie sometimes! My husband chose this colour-way from the ones available, but there are subtle and more flamboyant ones to choose from. I used one of his old ties for the width and length.
