Mercedes Tank
The Mercedes Tank is a simple wardrobe staple. It is constructed top down in stockinette stitch. It features contrast stitching for a sporty detail. It is the perfect tank for all year round and can be styled in many ways. It has a negative ease fit and regular length which is adjustable.
Sizes:
(XS, S, M)(L, XL, XXL)
The sizes correspond with a bust circumference of (80-85, 85-90, 90-95)(95-100, 100-110, 110-120) cm or approx. (31.5-33.5, 33.5-35.5, 35.5-37.5)(37.5-39.5, 39.5-43.5, 43.5-47.25) inches.
Measurements:
Garment bust circumference (68, 71, 78)(83, 90, 100) cm / approx. (26.25, 28, 30.75)(32.5, 35.5, 39.25) inches.
Garment length measured from underarm (33, 33, 33)(33, 36, 36) cm / approx. (13, 13, 13)(13, 14, 14) inches.
The tank has a negative ease of approx. 12-16 cm / 4.75-6.25 inches. The soft yarn creates a stretchy yet form fitting fabric, you should choose a size that is 12-16 cm / 4.75-6.25 inches smaller than your bust circumference depending on your fit preference.

2.5mm circular needles 40-60 cm length for the trim.
Notions:
Tapestry needle, stitch wire/ scrap yarn, needle and matching thread, stitch markers.
Yarn:
Sample is knit in Isager Yarn Alpaca 2 (50% alpaca, 50% wool) shade 30.
You will need (125, 150, 150)(175, 200, 200) g of Isager Yarn Alpaca 2.
You will also need approx. 3-5 metres of contrasting yarn. Sample uses Drops Flora shade 02 White.
Yarn Suggestions and Alternatives:
The Mercedes Tank is knit in fingering weight yarn. I recommend picking an animal fibre yarn, as this creates a warm stretchy fabric. I recommend Isager Alpaca 2 but here are some alternatives.
Isager Yarn Highland (100% wool)
Drops Alpaca (100% alpaca)
Drops Flora (65% wool, 35% alpaca)
Sandnes Garn Mini Alpakka (100% alpaca)
Gepard Garn Wild & Soft (60% merino, 40% silk)
