I had a skein of sock yarn that was in such a sweet colorway that it could only become a pair of sweet lace socks.
Merezhka is a style of embroidery from Ukraine, where strands of fabric are pulled out creating floats over which embroidered stitches are worked. It creates different ways of “ladders” that I am reminded of with this knitting pattern.

Skill level: advanced beginner to intermediate; need to know Judy’s Magic Cast On, magic loop, wrapping stitches, knitting wrapped stitches.
Finished dimensions: Small: foot circumference about 7” (17.5cm), Large: foot circumference about 8” (20 cm)
Suggested Yarn: sock weight yarn, a total of about 1.75 oz (50 g) or 234 yds (213 m) for Small size, 2.1 oz (60 g) or 280 yds (256 m) for Large size. I have used Big Sky Yarn Co in Bliss colorway.
Needles: size 1 (2.25 mm) circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge. You may also use dpns, distributing each half of the sts on 2 dpns (2 dpns for instep side, and 2 dpns for sole side)
Gauge: 8 st and 12 rows = 1” (2.5 cm) in stockinette
