The Merida hat is a reversible and totally seamless hat. The earflaps are knitted using short rows and body of the hat is knitted in brioche stitch creating a soft and cushy texture and at the same time a very stretchy fabric great for growing heads.

Skills needed:
• Knit in the round.
• Short Rows
• Brioche stitch
• Deceases in brioche st

Sizes: 0-3m (3-6m, 6-12m, 1-2y, 2-4y)

Needles:

  • 3.5 mm Double pointed needles (DPNs) or circular needles (if using magic loop method)
  • Tapestry needle.

Yarn suggestion:
The sample hat #1 was knitted with @weloknitting DK superfine merino wool (Mint daydream and confetti colorways)
The sample hat #2 was knitted with Debbie bliss Rialto DK 8ply (pool) and Madelinetosh sport (Holy Festival).

Yarn requirements: 1 skein 50g of each colour. (Madelinetosh sport comes in skeins of 100grs)

Gauge: 22sts-10cm (4”) 22 rounds in brioche stitch after blocking.
