Make yourself a beautiful whimsical owl. With a triangular wing like body pattern that resembles a cape or shawl, giving the impression they are flying or spreading their wings. The bodies are made up of alternating stitches in natural tones. These crochet owls would be perfect as decorations, appliqué, or gifts, especially for owl lovers or fans of handmade crafts. Small and fast enough to be ideal for random acts of crochet kindness.

For these owls, I used 12g of Stylecraft Special dk yarn in various colours, but you can use just about anything.
I used a 2.5mm crochet hook, a darning needle, a set of 8mm safety eyes.
You can make the owl in any yarn, but use a hook slightly smaller than the one advised on the ball band. It’s not imperative that it’s not gappy, as it’s folded in half and has no stuffing to show through, but the smaller hook will add a bit of stiffness to the owls construction. If you use the same weight yarn as me, your owl will measure approx 5 x 3.5”
