This pattern is from Elizabeth Johnston’s Merrie Dancers Toorie! Elizabeth graciously let me adapt her beautiful hat pattern into a Christmas bauble/ornament.

PLEASE NOTE: I am in the process of knitting this and wanted to get the pattern uploaded so you could knit it for the fundraiser (and one for yourself, of course!)

I provide a range of DPN needle sizes, depending on what you’re comfortable with and what size you would like your finished bauble - you will only need one size for the project.

You won’t need much yarn for this, simply 4 colours. It’s a great way to use up leftover bits of wool - anything from fingering, to sock, to heavier DK.

NOTE: ‘merrie dancers’ is the Shetland word for Northern Lights so this would look wonderful knit with a dark background and some bright colours to reflect the merrie dancers!

I created this pattern for Jamieson’s of Shetland’s fundraiser for the MRI Scan Appeal. Donations and information for the Scanner Appeal can be found at: https://mrimaakers.com/

Have fun with this pattern and again - a BIG thank you to Shetland Handspun - why not knit a matching hat: Merrie Dancers Toorie
