Writing this pattern was inspired by a friend asking for help making herself a crocheted market bag. I browsed patterns to recommend and in a typical moment for me found I was having a hard time paying attention to reading and decided to just try making one myself. This pattern is a written account of my third attempt doing that. I was pleased enough with how it turned out and that I was using a size of yarn that otherwise lays around my studio for too long that I decided to write it out and share it.

I used 2 worsted weight acrylic yarns. Acrylic for the washability because there’s a toddler in my house. Otherwise cotton would be lovely.
