Knit using 4.5mm (US #7) straight & double pointed needles, and 6mm (US #10) double pointed needles with a medium weight (#4) wool (appx 198 m per 112 gm/216 yds per 4 oz skein to achieve a gauge of approximately 16 stitches and 24 rows to a 10 cm (4”) square when knit in a stockinette stitch.

Based on a 4 oz/112 g skein of wool (appx 216 yds/198 m), you will need approximately 3/4 skein of wool for your main colour and 1/4 skein of wool for your second colour. You can increase or decrease the size of this toque by adding or subtracting stitches in multiples of 4 (i.e. instead of casting on 72 stitches, cast on 68 or 76 stitches) because the ribbing and pattern chart are in multiples of 4 stitches.
