This easy-to-make selbu star cozy is named for my great grandma, Mette Hansen.I love this motif with the stars representing protection, guidance, and light, with hearts in the corners that form smaller stars representing love and courage. The Mette cardigan was designed with my grandfather’s grandmother Mette Hansen in mind. She was the essence of hope, love, protection and courage.

It is a quick knit to warm the neck of a loved one. Knit in the round with super soft Woolfolk TOV DK, the perfect yarn for softness and comfort. I’ve been making cozies like this one for my family for a while now. They are a great substitute for a scarf on a cold day, like a super fluffy but more traditional looking neck gaiter (for outdoor tech gear buffs). This one is shorter than some of my other cozy patterns and is not too tall and not too short but just right. Fun to make and fun to give. Happy knitting!
