Mhanga (muh-HAN-ga) is a word in Swahili meaning a few things: victim, blood sacrifice, and aardvark!

This plush stands about 22cm / 8½in tall, taller with no hood. A different size yarn or hook may change the resulting size. It stands without support.

You will need DK yarn in the following colours:

• tan or light brown for the body (one 100g ball)
• black for the cloak (one 100g ball)
• red/white for the eyes (small amount)

You will also need:

• a 3.0mm crochet hook
• pins
• a darning needle
• stuffing
• scissors
• if you don’t want the crochet eyes included in the pattern, ~15mm safety eyes
