I also have a sweater design in Magpie Fibers’ new Nest yarn in the works for 2020, but once it was off my needles, I really needed one more skein of this yarn in my hands, so I decided to create a hat as well! Nest is a dream yarn for me, and I’d been watching and waiting while Dami of Magpie got this gorgeous fiber ready.

Michelada is a simple beanie, featuring a striking cable pattern that combines traveling ribs with classic twists. I love how this swirls around the head - and how distinct it looks in a gorgeous, subtly heathered wool. The overdyed gray of the Twilight colors has a gorgeous depth that absolutely shines in this pattern.

The cable motif looks complex, but is actually quite simple and easily memorized, and the hat flies off the needles in no time.

If you are traveling this Thanksgiving or are looking for a quick, satisfying gift knit, grab a skein of Nest right now and give it a go!

Cable pattern is both written and charted.

Note that 1 skein will be enough for all three sizes of the hat, but if making the largest size, you may need additional yardage for your pom.
