I adapted a couple of different motifs together to make a mini blanket for my sister’s cat, Michi. When I finished, I thought the pattern would work nicely for a larger item with a few adaptations, so I made them and here it is!

I used leftover yarn from an earlier project (scrappy tunisian project? yes please!) but you could get a fairly long cowl or two snug ones out of one 100g skein of fingering-weight yarn fairly easily.

This pattern was always intended to be provided for free, but if you feel moved to contribute in some way please consider making a donation to the one of the Minneapolis organizations still in need or your local bail fund.

Gauge is not important but is measured between different points within the pattern repeat.

Size options:
Guidance is provided to increase or decrease the width of the fabric. As pattern is worked flat and seamed, additional repeats can be added to make a longer cowl, or use the pattern as a scarf.

Skills needed:
The pattern is worked primarily in tunisian simple stitch with increases and decreases to form the pattern. I assume knowledge of the process of working tunisian projects (return pass, how to work a TSS, etc.) and this would be suitable for adventurous beginner or intermediate tunisian crocheters.

The fabric will fit on a standard crochet hook without a grip, but you may wish to use a stopper or rubberband around the end to prevent stitches from sliding off since they will need to scrunch together a bit.

This pattern has not been tested. Let me know if you run into any issues while working on it and I can attempt to provide additional clarification.
