This is the chart I used to make my University of Michigan Norwegian-style mittens.

Cast on 44 stitches. Work ribbed cuff or cuff style of liking. Follow the chart for the Left mitten. Repeat for the Right mitten. The red line indicates where stitches should be placed on hold while the rest of the mitten is knitted.

Mittens can be made smaller or bigger by using smaller or larger needles and modifying the gauge. They can be made shorter by removing some of the motifs.
