November… last month of autumn, but the beginning of new adventure… time to knit mitts! Mid November mitts is a fun and quick to knit project. Basic knitting stitches, few cables, some increases and you have mitts to keep your hands warm and cosy. The pattern includes instructions how to knit both short and long mitts. They might seem identical but please read before you start!

Sizes: the pattern is written for one size only and mitts will fit most women hands
Finished measurements: long mitts – ~ 11’’ (~28 cm) long laying flat; short mitts – ~ 8,5’’ (~21,5 cm) long laying flat.
But it all depends on the yarn you choose.
Yarn: I knit this pattern with DK weight yarn. Long mitts were made with Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend 70% extrafine merino wool, 30% silk, approx. 150 yds / 135 mts, by 1.75 oz / 50 g skeins; colors 2444 Orinoco and 8486 Evening Mist. It took one skein to knit a pair. Short mitts made with Linie 399 Livana, 137 yards(125 meters), 50 grams (1.76 ounces); color 0107. One pair – less than one skein.
Tools: US 4 or 3.5 mm circular needle at least 32’’ (80 cm) for magic loop method, same size DPN for thumb knitting (optional)
Other materials: tapestry needle, stitch holder, stitch markers, cable needle (optional) Gauge: 22 sts = 4’’/10 cm
