Midnightsun Cardigan
An oversized, simple, cosy and very versatile cardigan with subtle details. This is the one to take with you to throw over a top or dress as the evening sets in. Knitted on 10 mm needles, it’s also quick to knit. It’s designed to be knitted with approx. 35–45 cm of ease, depending on how you want it to fit.
The Midnight Sun cardigan is knitted from the top down. First, cast on stitches for the back, which is knitted back and forth. Then pick up stitches at the shoulders to knit the front panels. At the top of the shoulders, knit a few shortened rows to optimise the fit. The front panels are knitted in straight rows without any increases. The back and both front panels are joined under the sleeves. The body is knitted back and forth and finished with ribbing, two rows of double knitting and an Italian cast-off. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up and the sleeves are knitted in the round on circular needles with decreases. The sleeves are finished by creating an attractive detail with decreases before knitting ribbing, two rows of double knitting and finishing with an Italian cast-off.
