A shawl for staying up all night and enjoying the long light of midsummer.

Midsommar is a crescent-shaped shawl that requires no counting -- just follow along with the easy set of drop stitch, eyelet, stockinette and garter stitch sections.

Gauge:
14 sts/18 rows over 4” garter stitch

Size: Blocked to approximately: 90” x 20”

Needles:
US 10/6mm ideally using a 40” circular needle. Because the wraps on the drop stitches can get bulky, I’d suggest the 32”, but you can power through with a 24” circular needle if need be.

Yarn:
Gold shawl was knit using 2 cakes of Berroco Estiva 100% cotton tape in color “Curry (2612)”. Each cake is 336 yds / 307 m. Estiva has a nice transitional color effect, and goes from light to dark. I chose to start from light to dark, then started the second cake in the darker color, and transitioned back to the light. Going from light-dark-light-dark could have an interesting striped effect. The choice is yours.

Yardage needed: 600-800 yards

Skills:
Knit, Purl, YO, KFB, drop stitches, tabular cast on, stretchy bind off

Errata:
Row 34: K2, Kfb, K2, (Drop YO, K1) to last 3 sts, Kfb, K2
