The leg of the Midsummer Waltz socks is made in faux cables, which is easier to make than regular cables because you don’t need a cable needle. The short row heel is a nice alternative to a regular heel. After the short row heel, there is no need for the gusset shaping as with the more commonly used Dutch heel, as the extra stitches are already decreased during the heel knitting. Two of the faux cables continue to the toe part of the sock and the toe is finished with a wide wedge decrease.
