What to do when winter is already in progress and you need some stylish and warm mittens? Combining a gusset thumb for comfort with a picot edge for interest, these gorgeous colorwork mittens take only a couple of days to knit.

Very little of the yellow and navy colors is needed, so this would be a good place to use up scraps.

This pattern has easily memorized short repeats, so there is no need to trap floats except in a couple of places near the thumb gusset.

Yardage by color:
I used Patons Classic Wool Worsted.
Mixed Grey 100 yds, Winter White 65 yds, Navy 25 yds, and Yellow 15 yds.
