Mikkel Selbu Mittens
These mittens pattern come in two sizes: approx. size 8-10 years, and women’s size. They are knitted according to the Norwegian Selbu mitten tradition; two stranded in the round, with a gusseted thumb, and pointed tip. The mittens have a ribbed cuff, and a tesselating motif on the front of the hand.
The pattern is both written and charted, and it has lots of explanations with photos of the different techniques, and tips for achieving the best result. It uses basic increases and decreases (including SK2P), and the thumb hole is made by placing stitches on hold until the hand is done.
The pattern also contains a separate PDF with all charts right side up for use with digital trackers.
