The Milano Vest is an all-over cable knit vest which can be made and worn as both a base layer or a mid layer. The vest is worked bottom-up in the round and is worked flat after splitting for the armholes. The shoulders are bound off using the 3-Needle Bind-Off, and the vest is finished by adding ribbing around the armholes and the neckline. The vest is designed to not show undergarments when worn as a base layer and makes a great layering piece with a little more positive ease.

Vest Sizes:
There are nine sizes in total and the finished bust vest measurements are:
75 (85) 95 (105) 115 (125) 135 (145) 155 cm
30 (34) 38 (42) 46 (50) 54 (58) 62 in

The finished shoulder to shoulder measurements are:
26 (27) 30 (32) 35 (36) 36 (38) 38 cm

The vest is meant to have a small amount of positive ease:
As a base layer: -5 to 5 cm of ease
As a mid layer: 0 to 10 cm of positive ease

Suggested Gauge:
The gauge for the cable pattern used is 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) = 22,5 sts x 42 rows on 4 mm needles. Keep in mind this gauge is achieved after blocking the swatch/vest.

Suggested Needles:
4 mm (US 6): 80/100/120 cm (32/40/47 in) circular (depending on size)
3.5 mm (US 4): 40 cm (16 in) circular, 80/100/120 cm (32/40/47 in) circular (depending on size)
3 mm (US 2.5): 40 cm (16 in) circular

Suggested Yarn:
Any kind of sport weight yarn, that stretches easily while blocking. Yarn used for the sample is Kremke Soul Wool The Merry Merino 140 (50 gr = 140 m).

Yarn Used: Around 220 (240) 260 (270) 290 (310) 330 (340) 370 gr of Kremke Soul Wool The Merry Merino 140 in the colour 06 Kaffee.

Techniques Used:
Italian cast-on, picking up and knitting stitches, cable knitting, decreasing in cable pattern, three-needle bind-off, Italian bind-off.
