Mill Trail Mitts
A pattern created for the knitting workshop at Junction Fiber Mill’s 2025 retreat, Mill Trail Mitts plays with color changing yarn. Try the Estonian Cast On for a stretchy and textured edge that complements corrugated ribbing, paired with a purled Lace Bind Off. Choose your own adventure for the colorwork body. Mix and match colors for more fun and exploration!

Choose Your Own Adventure
Mill Trail Mitts may be worked in several ways for knitters of all levels.
- Work ribbing in a single color.
- Knit stockinette mitts in a single color, which may be kept plain or used as a background on which to embellish.
- Substitute plain stockinette for Charts A, C, E and F and use duplicate stitch to create the leaf motif.
- Knit the palm charts (Charts B, D) on both sides of the mitt, omitting the leaf motif.
- Follow the pattern and colorwork charts as written, swapping C1 and C2 for the second mitt to create a study in colorwork.
