Millefiori means “a thousand flowers” in Italian. It is also the name of an amazing glasswork technique developed by Venetian artists.

Before I found out that the pattern I used in this design is called cat’s paw, I used to call it flowers. No matter how much I love cats (and their paws!), the pattern looks like flowers to me. After visiting Venice last spring and admiring the beautiful Millefiori jewellery, it will always be flowers for me. Sorry, kitties!

The flower pattern is combined with a simple eyelet zig zag.

The blanket’s size is easily adjustable, you can change the size by knitting fewer or more pattern repeats.

The pattern is quite simple, suitable for begginer lace knitters. However, I am a beginner myself, so if you find any mistakes or need help, please contact me, I’ll be happy to help and correct.
