Millie is a gracious shawl worked sideways with 3 colors of fingering weight, separated in 3 sections, and combining stockinette, lace and stripes. The first section is made in simple stockinette, enhanced by stripes of purl stitches, and is a good place to use a lightly variegated yarn. The second section is the perfect continuation of the first one - the stripes are still there, but they are enhancing a simple lace pattern. The third section breaks the mold, with a delicate lace pattern that is easier to make than it appears. The lace parts are embellished with easy bobbles to add a little more texture to this lovely shawl.

The shawl can be made as long as you want it to be, as each section is worked using patterns that are repeated any number of time. You can decide to make the sections longer or shorter, to accommodate your taste and yardage.

Three colors were used to knit the prototype, but you can use any number of colors to knit this shawl, from 1 to 100! Each repetition of the stitch patterns could be made using a different color, making this pattern an excellent stash buster for all the leftovers and scrap yarns.
