About the Milotté Headover
The Milotté Headover is a quick-knit chunky hooded cowl with a cute lace pattern. The ribbing is worked in the round on circular needles, while the rest of the balaclava is knitted back and forth in stockinette stitch. At the top, the pieces are grafted together, ideally using Kitchener stitch for an invisible finish. You then pick up stitches around the face opening to knit a ribbed edge. Using the Italian bind-off creates a beautiful and elastic edge along the face opening. If you are knitting with the suggested yarn, you will knit using three strands.
Measurements: Total length approximately 38 cm, width 24 cm (center).
Suggested yarn: Double strand of Alpakka Linen from Rauma yarn (100g) + Inca from Rauma yarn (50g) or Thick Mohair from Rauma yarn (100g) + Plum from Rauma yarn (25g) + Alpakka supplementary yarn from Sandnes yarn (50g).
Recommended needles: Circular needle 6mm // 40 cm and 60/80 cm (the ribbing is worked in the round, then back and forth, so the needle length can be adjusted as needed).
