Now one of the classic dungeon crawl monsters can be yours to control, even when you’re not the DM! This DIY mimic monster treasure chest is made out of acrylic yarn, corrugated cardboard and lined with felt to imitate the master imitator itself. Watch your fellow adventurers gasp in horror when you unzip this creature’s maw and reveal an awesome dice-holding monster!

This is a 17 page PDF tutorial guide for making your own mimic treasure chest dice box. This pattern goes over how to construct a cardboard skeleton frame as well as the crocheted cover and felted interior.

The guide pattern will show you how to create a box 4” tall, 5” wide and 3” deep--which can comfortably hold 5 sets of standard sized polyhedral dice (that’s 35 dice!), though you should be able to hold a few sets more if your mimic is particularly hungry.
