An easy knitting pattern for a teeny tiny Christmas stocking ornament with hanging loop. This is a mini version of a proper stocking, knit in the round with short row heel (full instructions included).

Optionally, the rolled cuff can be knit in fluffy wool for extra cuteness!

Knit it in traditional red, or mix it up and make a set of rainbow stockings!

String a line of them on a ribbon as reusable bunting, or make 24 as an advent calendar.

You could also use this pattern to knit up a quick regular-sized stocking with really chunky yarn.

ECO-CREDENTIALS: best made from natural yarns so that they will eventually biodegrade (but not until they’ve been used for many, many years)! Use either pure wool and wool boucle, or organic (or recycled) cotton for the most eco-friendly stockings!

YARN:
Body: Around 5g DK wool (I used Cascade 220 / West Yorkshire Spinners ColourLab / Hoooked Soft Cotton Recycled DK)

Fluffy cuff: (optional) 1g or a few yards of a fluffy or furry wool (I used KnitPicks Alpaca-Merino Boucle)

US 7 / UK 7 / 4.5 mm circular needles for magic loop (at least 22” / 55cm) or double-pointed needles (instructions for magic loop only)
Crochet hook in a similar size
Tapestry needle for sewing in ends
