Judging by the number of Minis I see on the road, they are a very popular car! I learned to drive in a Mini (though mine was Old School!). This cushion cover is based on the modern Mini.

The cushion cover measures approximately 40cm/16″ square (tension is 16 sts and 20 rows to 10cm/4″). It is made using Chunky yarn and knitted up on 6.5mm needles. It uses 4 colours in total, weight and length as follows: Cream (200g/320m), Red, (20g/32m), Dark Grey (20g/32m), Light Grey (20g/32m). A basic stocking stitch is used throughout. I used the intarsia method for my colour changes (lot’s of videos on YouTube if you’re not sure about this technique). The front and back are all knitted in one piece, just side seams to sew up and no need for a zip as it has a button fastening!

I’m based in the UK and my terminology/abbreviations are written UK style.

To finish your cushion off you’ll need:
a Cushion Pad 45cm/18”square
5 buttons approximately 2.5cm/1”wide
