Dottie, downsized: just like the adult version, this seamless, top-down, yoked pullover pairs colorwork with textured sprinkled dots throughout. Pair high or low contrast colors using the same yarns or add even more surface interest by harmonizing two different fibers as shown here in the mini versions. Instructions for both Short & Long Sleeves are included. Baby sizes feature instructions for neckline buttonhole for easy on & off. This pattern is written for intermediate level knitters already comfortable with stranded colorwork & following instructions at the same time; stitch pattern is both written and charted. Click here to view my Textured Dot Tutorial and see why I’m obsessed! And, be sure to view my test crew and their unbelievably precious models. They knocked it out of the park.

Sizing: Like the adult version, Dottie is designed with extra positive ease. Use the “To Fit” chest measurement to determine which size is best; age-sizing is a suggestion and should be used only when measurements are not available. Also like the original, Dottie is cropped. For a longer sweater, be sure to get extra yarn; pattern includes sizing note on where to add length. This tutorial can help you figure out how much yarn to add.

Sample Yarn Information
This sweater is shown on a bitty babe and a toddler. Both of these samples feature different fibers for textural contrast as MC/CC. Opportunities are endless and I bet you’ve got stash (at least for CC!) Short Sleeve version features fingering weight Ampersand Fibers Caslong Fingering with a slightly heavier yarn for CC, Biches & Bûches Le Gros Silk & Mohair. The Long Sleeve version features soft Magpie Fibers Swanky Sock and a slub yarn for CC, Lavender Lune Co Slub. I recommend all of these yarns in any combination, or of course there are many comparable substitutes out there. You’ll just want to make sure that your yarn choices are “sticky” so that the floats will eventually felt nicely into the WS of your project. Check out the other Dottie patterns to see all the featured yarns!
