The pattern is written in detail but you must be familiar with basic knit stitches and techniques such as:

• cast on/cast off;
• how to make knit and purl stitches;
• worked ‘back and forth’ on 2 knitting needles.

• how to decorate the dress with embroidery;
• how to shape the hem of the dress using gathering technique, which can be a great alternative to lace;
• how to make loops for the buttons.

Materials and Tools:

• Fingering yarn 500 m / 100 g
• knitting needles 1,5 mm
• crochet hook 1,5 mm (for auxiliary function)
• tiny buttons for fastener
• embroidery thread
• lace for decoration

In this pattern I show how to knit a dress with the following parameters: waist (chest, armpit) – approx. 15 cm (5.9 in), neck - approx. 10 cm (3.93 in), arm – approx. 5.5 cm (2.16). Using a different yarn and larger/smaller needles, you can make this model fits the toy with different parameters.

This dress idea came up in my head during a joint project with Anastasia Kirsanova @NansyOops «Sweet Cookie bear in a dress». Anastasia designed the pattern for a bear from textured yarn. I had to develop a nice dress easy to create, so that crafts lovers who are afraid of knitting but wish to learn how to knit, quelled their fear and believed that knitting is easy!
