I hope you have a pair of earmuffs because this Mandrake is screaming at the top of its little lungs! Mandrakes (or Mandragora) are tubby roots that resemble human babies. They are used in all kinds of magical potions including the one to bring those who have been petrified back to their normal state. This pattern includes a screaming mandrake and a kawaii version.

This crochet amigurumi pattern is perfect for beginners and neurodiverse crafters. The abbreviated instructions are followed by a breakdown in italics making it easier to understand what you need to do in each round. If you’ve had trouble reading patterns in the past, we hope that you’ll give our tater tot patterns a try.

One of the best things about these patterns is that they only use a tiny amount of yarn, so get out your scraps. Just remember that the hook size will depend on your yarn thickness and tension. So, experiment with what works best for you!

Using DK yarn and a 3mm hook, our Mandrake is approximately 8cm tall. The size will vary depending on yarn used and tension.
