The sweater is worked from the bottom up. First, the body is knit in the round using circular needles. When you reach the armholes, the work is divided into front and back pieces, which are then worked separately. The neckline is shaped on the front piece before the shoulders are seamed. Stitches are then picked up along the neckline and a ribbed neckband is worked. The sleeves are knit separately, also from the bottom up, before being sewn onto the body.
