With this easy-to-follow and clearly written pattern, you can knit the MINI SOPHIA CARDIGAN. A sweet little cardigan with a slightly oversized fit. Just like the Sophia Cardigan for ‘big’ people, but made for little ones.

The pattern is available in sizes 50/56, 62/68, 74/80, 86/92 and 98/104. To determine the sizing, I measured various garments from different brands and used the average measurements as a guide. I chose to list the sizes by clothing size rather than by age in months, because every child grows at their own pace. The colour possibilities for this design are endless and can easily be adapted to suit your preferences.

STITCHES & TECHNIQUES
In terms of skill level, I don’t think the Mini Sophia Cardigan is difficult to knit, but some knitting experience is required. The techniques used in this knitting pattern are:

• Alternating knit (K) and purl (P) stitches (ribbing)
• Alternating knit (K) and purl (P) rows (stockinette stitch)
• Decreasing stitches
• Mattress stitch (for sewing the cardigan together)

SIZES
The pattern is available in sizes 50/56, 62/68, 74/80, 86/92 and 98/104.

MATERIALS

• 6 mm and 8 mm knitting needles
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

YARN
For the pink cardigan shown in the photos, I used a combination of DROPS Air and DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk.
