Mini Sushi Date Sweater
Pattern in Testing, release 17th July 2026.
Construction
The Mini Sushi Date Sweater Pattern is the mini version for all our favorite little ones. The knitted sweater is worked from the top down and in the round. Begin at the neckline in 1x1 rib, then work through the yoke following the colourwork chart. Once the yoke is complete, the sleeve stitches are placed on hold and the body is worked in the round from the underarms down to the hem. Each sleeve is then picked up and worked one at a time and worked in the round. If desired, a decorative motif can be added to the elbows using duplicate stitch once the knitting is complete.
SKILL LEVEL Advanced Beginner / Intermediate Level
Techniques
This pattern works the following techniques:
knit, purl, working in the round, 1x1 rib, tubular cast on and bind off, short rows, stranded colourwork, left leaning increases.
Gauge
21 sts and 28 rows = 4 inches 10 cm in stockinette stitch on 4 mm US 6 needles, blocked.
19 sts and 34 rows = 4 inches 10 cm in 1x1 rib on 3.5 mm US 4 needles, blocked. Note the ribbing is intended to relax with blocking, which may cause it to appear wider than the stockinette fabric. This has been factored into the pattern’s construction and final measurements.
If you have more stitches on 4 inches / 10 cm than stated, use a larger needle size; if you have fewer stitches, use a smaller needle size.
Suggested Neeldes
- 4 mm US 6 circular needles 16, 32/40 inches 40, 80/100 cm, or size to obtain gauge.
- 3.5 mm US 4 circular needles 16, 32/40 inch 40, 80/100 cm for the 1x1 ribbing.
