Materials:
190-220 meters / 210-245 yds of fingering weight yarn (170-200m/220yds per 50g)
or 230-250 meters / 250-275 yds of DK weight yarn (100m/110yds per 50g)
Best in a soft material with good stitch definition and a good drape

The sample was knit in 100% merino wool - Steppke Single by Frida Fuchs Yarns, color Aprikose, (180meters/47g used).

Circular needles: 3.5mm / US 4 or size needed for gauge, 80-100cm/32-40”

Gauge: Stockinette stitch: 10 cm / 4 inch = 25 stitches and 34 rows in fingering weight,
or 21 sts x 28 rows in DK weight
Gauge is not crucial but will affect the needed yarn quantity and size of the finished shawl
