About 30 years ago, the Minnesota Knitter’s Guild Yarnover event was annually held at St. Catherine’s University in St. Paul, Minnesota. I have fond memories of the people, the classes, the market, as well as, the beautiful old campus. Knitters are interconnected through a passion for fiber, projects and a common language and this twisted “shawl,” with connecting cables and intersecting lattice stitches, symbolizes knitters in Minnesota as well as worldwide. I also realize the limited time knitters have today, as everyone is busy and rushing about, a DK weight shawl is the perfect project for knitters on the go.

The lattice section has just enough of a challenge to make it fun but you’ll be amazed at how quickly you can read the texture stitches. The fleck stitch section around the back of the shoulders is easy enough to do in the company of a group of knitters. Clever shaping at the ribbed section, allows the shawl to twist at the perfect spot. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to move about with this shawl around your shoulders.
