This top-down raglan begins a little differently than you might expect. The sweater is first worked flat while the front neckline and raglan shaping are worked at the same time. Once the front neck has been created, the center-front stitches are cast on and the sweater is joined to continue in the round.

The body is worked in stockinette while a charted stitch pattern adds detail to the sleeves. After the body and sleeves are complete, stitches are picked up around the neckline to knit the turtleneck.

The cropped length was designed intentionally to add an extra layer without completely covering the shape or waistline of a dress or high-waisted skirt.

The sample uses Hobbii Soft Alpaca and Hobbii Kid Silk held together, creating a soft fabric with a light fuzzy halo.
